SKNL's Carmichael to open 100 showrooms

Chennai, Oct 4: The Carmichael House, the premium home textile brand of S Kumars Nationwide Ltd (SKNL), offering wide range of home textile material is going to open 100 more showrooms or franchise showrooms all over the country during October-November this year.

Addressing mediapersons SKNL's CEO Aloke Bannerjee, after inaugurating the city's first franchise showroom, said here that they launched nationally at a glittering show in Mumbai on August 2 and the launch was a great success with an overwhelming response from traders. Five more show rooms would be launched in Chennai shortly, he added.

He said before March next year, 100 more show rooms would be launched in B and C class cities throughout the country.

He said, they were working to achieve the goal of being number one in home furnishing sector within a couple of years.

He claimed they were having the largest range of bath towels in 42 colours, between the price range of Rs 155 and Rs 400. Bollywood heroine Sushmita Sen had been fixed as their brand ambassador.

He said they were establishing special production units at Dewas in Madhya Pradesh and another at Gujarat for producing exclusive export commodities and these two units would start production by April next year. Till last year, they exported only non branded products to European countries and US, he added.

He said, in last year they exported goods worth Rs 55 crores.

Efforts would be made to intensify the export with branded goods, he added.

He said they achieved a turn over of Rs 900 crore last year and this year they were expecting to touch at least Rs 1,200 crore.
