Sensex trades 100 pts down in noon trade

Mumbai, Oct 4 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange was trading almost hundred points below the previous close as the traders booked profit in the select stocks.

Currently, the sensex is at 12,273.76, which is 92.63 points below the previous close of 12,366.39.

Today after opening in the green by 35 points, sensex slid badly on account of heavy selling pressure and negativity continued till the late afternoon trade.

Major sectors which are down in the red are FMCG down by 1.02 per cent, Metals down by 1.00 per cent and the Capital Goods sector was down by 0.90 per cent.

The pack of gainers on the BSE-30 index was led by Bajaj Auto and followed by Tata Motors, Reliance Energy, Cipla, Guajarat Ambuja and ICICI Bank all up between 0.06 to 2.14 per cent.

Besides the losers on the index were TCS, HDFC, BHEL, HDFC Bank, ITC, NTPC, Satyam Computers, Wipro, Hindalco, and SBI all down between 1.19 to 2.23 per cent.
