Youth attempts self-sacrifice

Shajapur, MP, Sep 30 (UNI) In an attempt to sacrifice himself, a 32-year-old man slashed his throat with a knife last night at Badaud town in this district, police said today.

Superintendent of Police Asha Mathur said Chandrapal Singh alias Tanwar Singh was admitted to hospital in Ujjain in serious condition by his father Sardar Singh and his mother.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and seized the knife.

Chandrapal had discussed about offering 'bali (sacrifice)' with his family members in the night. He took the drastic step when everybody went to sleep.

Chandrapal was later referred to Indore, where his condition was stated to be critical.
