TN CM to begin 6-day campaign for LB polls

Chennai, Sep 30: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi would commence a six-day campaign on October 5 for the local body elections, scheduled to be held on October 13 and 15.

The octogenarian, who extensively campaigned for the May last assembly elections, would address six public meetings at important towns in the state, seeking votes for the DMK-led DPA.

Mr Karunanidhi would begin his campaign by addressing a public meeting at Tiruvelveli on October 5, followed by a public meeting of DPA leaders in Madurai, the next day.

A party release here said the DMK Chief would address public meetings at Tiruchirapalli, Chennai, Coimbatore and Salem on October 7,8,10 and 11 respectively.
