One killed, another inured in explosion in Rohtak

Rohtak, Sep 30 (UNI) A boy was killed and another seriously injured when an explosion occurred in a house in Ambedkar colony in the city today, police said.

The deceased was identified as one Anoop who died on the spot while his friend Rakesh sustained serious injuries in the blast and was admitted to the Post Graduate Institue of Medical Sciences here.

Police have rushed to the site and cordonned off the house. Police recovered few nut bolts and a hammer from the room where the explosion occured.

Police said Rakesh was not in a position to make any statement due to bad condition. An expert from local forensic station visited the site.

SSP C S Rao said forensic experts had been also called from Madhuban to acertain the cause of the blast.

Spanish tourist cremated in Varanasi

Varanasi, Sep 30 (UNI) A Spanish tourist, who died here yesterday of cardiac arrest, was this evening cremated at the Harischandra Ghat, as per the wish of his family. Police said here today that Alberto Sanz Duke (33), a native of Madrid (Spain) died here yesterday due to massive cardiac arrest, while going to Varanasi Airport to catch a flight to New Delhi. Veteran freedom fighter and former UP minister dead

Allahabad, Sep 30 (UNI) Veteran freedom fighter, senior journalist and former Uttar Pradesh information minister P D Tandon died in a city hospital today following prolonged illness. He was 95. BJP wants ban on Musharraf's book for showing JK as Pak territory
