Mizoram university to follow new exam system

Aizawl, Sep 30 (UNI) Mizoram University has asked the colleges of the state to make internal assessments that would carry 25 percent of the total marks in final examination from 2006-07 session onwards to.

In a meeting between the University vice chancellor A N Rai and the College Principals Council had unanimously decided that the internal assessment systems at college level would be followed with the ratification in an ordinance at the earliest.

According to the decision, the marksheets would be integrated from next session and there would be no more issuing of mark sheets for each year of the three-year degree course.

"In the new system, a single mark sheet would be issued on conclusion of the third year which would contain the marks obtained by a student in each year", the statement added.

It was agreed that convocations would be held every year and in absence of it the Vice Chancellor would exercise his power to issue original certificates.

Advani asks government to intervene in UNI takeover issue

Srinagar, Sep 30 (UNI) In a major reshuffle Jammu and Kashmir Government has transferred 19 senior Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officers in the interest of administration, an official spokesman said. He said the transfers and postings of these officers have been ordered with immediate effect. Among others, Mr Farooq Ahmed, KAS on his repatriation from the post of Registrar, Moulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad has been posted as Special Secretary to Government, Revenue.....
