Minor killed, 2 injured in factional clash in Zunheboto

Kohima, Sep 30 (UNI) In the continuing clashes between rival NSCN factions, a minor was killed and two others were seriously injured, including one NSCN (K) cadre near here at Zunheboto.

The four year old boy along with his aunt was killed when stray bullets hit him during the cross-firings between the factions, sources said.

His aunt was also seriously injured.

The clash started when a group of NSCN (K) cadres attacked an NSCN(I-M) group camping atop a hill near Zunheboto town.

One NSCN-IM cadre was reportedly captured by the NSCN (K) cadres but was later released unharmed, sources said.

The NSCN-IM cadres fled away soon after the incident, sources said.

Meanwhile, the two factions have blamed each other for the death of the minor.

An irate mob at Zunheboto demonstrated a massive public rally yesterday and condemned the spurt in factional violence in the district.

The district administration had offered Rs 10,000 to the family of the victim, sources said.

Indian expatriates await deportation at Qatar camps

Dubai, Sep 30: The number of Indian expatriates being held in Qatar's deportation centre is on the rise, said a community association. The average number of expatriates which was 25 to 30 annually till recent years, is now multiplying every month, said Mr Nilangshu Dey, the President of Indian Community Benevolent Fund (ICBF). Of late, ICBF has been issuing on an average,30 air tickets per month to those waiting to get deported, The Peninsula reported......

NTRUHS counselling begins Oct 6

Vijayawada, Sep 30: The Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) will hold counselling for admissions to the BAMS, BHMS and BNYS courses from October six.NTRUSH Registrar P Jayakar Babu said rank holders who had applied for the respective courses in response to the university notification of June 17 were eligible to attend the counselling session for 497 seats in various colleges.He said counselling for open competition seats would take place on October six, followed by BC.....
