Mega block on central rlw suburban sections

Mumbai, Sep 30: Central Railway will operate Mega block on its suburban sections tomorrow for carrying out maintenance work in its harbour and main line.

In view of the maintenance work UP/DN traffic on Harbour line from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus to Vashi, Belapur, Panvel and vice versa will remain cancelled from 0950 hrs to 1553 hrs.

However during this period special locals will run between CST and Kurla and between Panvel andVashi at a frequency of 25 minutes.

DN slow line services leaving Matunga from 1040 hrs to 1552 hrs will be diverted on fast line between Matunga and Mulund halting at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations.

During this period dn local line services will not available at Vidyaihar, Kanjurmarg and Nahur stations.

JK constituted committee to address SRTC's problems

Srinagar, Sep 30: The Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a five-member Committee to look into the problems faced by the State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC). Speaking at a joint meeting of officers of the transport Department and SRTC Union leaders, the Minister for Transport Hakim Mohammad Yaseen said the committee will consist of Commissioner Secretary Finance, Commissioner Secretary Transport, Managing Director SRTC besides two union leaders. He directed the committee to submit its report within next.....

Myanmar junta holds another '88 uprising leader

YANGON, Sep 30 (Reuters) Myanmar's military junta arrested another leader of the 1988 student uprising today, the fourth activist held this week as Washington stepped up pressure on the regime to stop jailing its political opponents. Police picked up Ko Min Zeya from his home in Yangon, a family member told Reuters, four days after fellow student leaders Min Ko Naing, Ko Ko Gyi and Htay Kway were detained without explanation.
