'Man at Iraq Sunni leader's house planned attacks'

Baghdad, Sep 30: A man seized by US forces from the house of the leader of Iraq's main Sunni political bloc had planned car bomb attacks on Baghdad's Green Zone diplomatic and government compound, the US military said today.

''Coalition Force personnel detained an individual at the residence of Dr Adnan al-Dulaimi in Baghdad September 29. The detained individual is suspected of involvement in the planning of a multi-vehicle suicide operation inside Baghdad's International Zone,'' the military said in a statement.

Devp will improve law and order in NE: Jairam Ramesh

Imphal, Sep 30: The Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh today said the Centre was seriously concerned with the law and order situation in the North East (NE).Mr Ramesh at a meeting in the Raj Bhawan here said corruption and bad governance were largely responsible for the deteriorating law and order problems in the NE.He said there has been a spurt of upto 40 per cent in the extortion cases in the region and stressed.....

Special trains to clear extra rush during festival season

Bangalore, Sept 30 (UNI) South Western Railway (SWR) today announced extension of five pairs of Special Trains for a further period of two months to clear extra rush during the ensuing festival season. Train No 0637/0638 Bangalore City-Ernakulam-Bangalore City Weekly Superfast special will leave Bangalore at 1715 hrs on Fridays and reach Ernakulam at 0430 hrs next day. On return direction the train will leave Ernakulam at 1700 hrs on Saturdays to reach Bangalore.....

3 died during treatment by quack

Chhatarpur(MP), Sep 30(UNI) Three people, including a woman, died and another was in a serious condition after they were given certain injection by a quack at a village in Chhatarpur district.
