Aishwarya, Munshaw emerge winners in Asian U-14 tennis tourney

Gurgaon, Sep 30 (UNI) Second seeded Aishwarya Aggarwal of India put an end to compatriot Ratnika Batra's giant-killing spree, thrashing her 6-1, 6-3 to lift the Asia U-14 ITF tennis tournament title here today.

Batra, who had upset top seeded Shweta Rana, six seeded Parthana and fifth seeded Natallia Khaniejo en-route to the final, could not match the firepower of her much higher ranked rival and went down tamely.

Meanwhile, seventh seeded Munshaw Vaidik of India won the singles crown in the boys section by defeating third seeded compatriot Sumeet Shinde 6-2, 6-2.

Munshaw later paired up with N Sai Karthik to down another Indian pair of Vishwesh Sinha and Shahbaaz Khan 6-2, 6-2 in the boys doubles.

In the girls doubles, top seeded India's Shweta Rana and Ankita Raina beat second seeded compatriots Aishwarya Aggarwal and Natallia Khaniejo 6-4, 6-1 to emerge winners.
