Afghan school defeat Tamil Nadu school 2-0

New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) Habbiyah School continued to impress and Afghan side defeated St Patric Anglo Indian Higher Sec High School, Tamil Nadu 2-0 in the juniors (under-17) category of Subroto Cup football tournament here today.

Mateen opened the scoring in the dying moments of the first half and Najaf doubled the scoring barely four minutes after the breather.

In the sub-junior (under-14) section, Govt Model High School, Chandigarh trounced New Sunrise Public School, Fatehabad 6-1 with Gagandeep and Samuel scoring a brace each.

In another match, St Ignatious High School, Jharkhand defeated VM Public School, Baroda 5-0.

Guinean refugees stay behind as UN closes camp

CONAKRY, Sep 30 (Reuters) Some 400 refugees from Sierra Leone's brutal 1991-2002 civil war today remained behind when the United Nations' refugee agency closed a camp in southern Guinea. The UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) announced the closure of the Boreah facility near the town of Kissidougou two years ago, but a group of 1,000 refugees remained in the hope of winning asylum in Western countries. 11th Plan earmarks Rs 3,410 cr for power sector in Haryana

Chandigarh, Sep 30 (UNI) A provision of Rs 3,410.40 crore has been made in the 11th Five Year Plan, for the development of power sector in Haryana, as against Rs 1,466.11 crore in the 10th Five Year Plan. A spokesman for the Haryana Power Utilities said that efforts were being made to make Haryana a power surplus state by the beginning of 2010.
