9 killed as truck overturns

Anand, Sep 30 (UNI) Nine people, including six children, of a family were killed when a truck in which they were travelling overturned on Vasad-Bagodara highway at Indralej village near Tarapur early today.

Seven others who were injured, including the driver and cleaner of the truck, have been admitted to a local hospital at Tarapur.

The incident occured at about 0300 hrs when the driver of the truck carrying cement bags, lost control and the truck overturned, police said.

The deceased were travelling from their native Jasdan village to Vadodara on a business trip. They have been identified as: Jethabhai Mohanbhai Makwana (45), his wife Bijuben Jethabhai Makwana (42), Payalben Makwana (7), Harishbhai Jethabhai Makwana, Sajniben Makwana (6), Rohanbhai Makwana (3), Vijaybhai Jethabhai Makwana (15), Agubhai Jethabhai Makwana (5) and Payalben Makwana (5).

Jakhar seeks legal status of RSS ban lifting

Bhopal, Sep 30 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar has sought clarification from the state's BJP government on the 'legal status' of its decision to lift ban on government employees from participating in the activities of RSS.
