Warrant issued against MP CM, others

Raipur, Sep 22 (UNI) A local court has issued bailable warrants against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, two Chhattisgarh ministers and 57 other BJP leaders in connection with a case registered against them during an agitation five years ago.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Satyabhama yesterday ordered to issue bailable warrants against Mr Singh, Chhattisgarh Finance Minister Amar Agrawal, PWD Minister Rajesh Munat and about 57 BJP leaders after the police filed charge sheet against them.

Police had registered a case under various sections of IPC after leaders of BJP, which was then in opposition, organised a gherao of the official residence of then Chief Minister Ajit Jogi.

After the BJP came to power, the state government had withdrawn three other cases registered against the BJP leaders.

Three other cases were still pending for disposal in the courts.

Pawar constitutes 27-member working committee

NC is not an enemy says PDP

Srinagar, Sep 22: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a ruling coalition partner in Jammu and Kashmir, has asked its leaders and workers not to treat the National Conference as an ''enemy'' to be meted out ill-will, but as a political opposition with which a battle of ideas and principles was being fought.The recently-constituted Political Affairs Committee (PAC), in a meeting here, also welcomed the India-Pakistan Havana declaration under which a joint security mechanism was decided to be set up.....
