Total foreign reserves down to USD 165.542 bn

Mumbai, Sept 22, (UNI) According to the weekly statistical report presented by the Reserve Bank Of India, the Total Foreign reserves came down to US Dollar 165.542 billion as on September 15.

The Foreign currency assets also stood at US Dollar 158.239 billion as on Sept 15, 2006. Besides, maintaining the best international practice India's reserve position in the IMF was at US Dollar 76.4 billion.

Total Bank Credit as on Sept 01 was Rs 15,92,628 crore. Out of this food credit was put at Rs 36,529 crore, whereas, the Non Food credit was at Rs 15,56,100 crore.

Besides, the outstandings that accrue out of accommodation provided by the scheduled commercial banks to commercial sector in the form of bank credit and investment shares/debentures/bonds etc as on Sept 01 stood at Rs 88,799 crores.

ITC interested on retail ventures in West Bengal

Kolkata, Sept 22: ITC Ltd is interested in cash and carry operations in the horticulture sector in West Bengal, its chairman Y C Deveswar said today. Premji discusses Wipro's plans with Buddhadeb

Kolkata, Sept 22: Wipro Ltd Chairman Azim Premji and West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today discussed the company's expansion plans in the state during a CII meet here. Airtel's seamless roaming 3G services in Japan, Korea
