'Thai coup not to affect bilateral relations'

Moscow, Sept 22: Russia has expressed the hope that military coup in Thailand will not affect relations between the two countries.

A statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry said, ''Implementation of the existing Russian-Thai agreements on further sustained development of friendly, time-tested relations between the two countries will continue despite the coup in Thailand.'' ''We hope the way out of the situation that has evolved will be found by bringing the country back into the constitutional framework as soon as possible and by a stronger democratic process involving the entire spectrum of political forces,'' the statement said, adding Russia was convinced that a broad public dialogue will create the necessary climate for forming a new Thai parliament and government.
