TAA advices passengers to plan trips to Thailand after two days

Mumbai, Sep 22 (UNI) Travel Agents Association (TAA) of India President C V Prasad today adviced passengers planning trips to Thailand in the next two weeks to wait for two or three days before taking any decision, although the ground situation is completely normal after the military coup.

However, schools, colleges, financial institutions etc have been closed and Wednesday has been declared a 'public holiday'. The only place where attractions are closed for tourists include government areas and places around it, he said in a release issued here today.

Business activities are on and even airports are operating normally despite the presence of troops. However, no special security checks seem to be in place, the release said.

Outside Bangkok too, calm and peace is prevailing. In cities like Pattaya, Phuket etc things are functioning normally and shopping centres, restaurants and tourist attractions are also functioning as usual. All tours are operating and tourists are continuing their holidays, the release added.
