Stir called off

Puducherry, Sept 22 (UNI) The group "D" Employees of the territorial administration called off their agitation today.

This followed representatives of the association holding talks with Chief Minister N Rangasamy yesterday in which the latter reportedly assured to consider their demands.

The group 'D"Employees held a series of agitations, including a human chain to press their demands which included wage revision.

Puducherry, Sept 22 (UNI) A middle-aged woman was killed when a fire engine hit her at Pillaichavady near here today. According to police, a fire engine from Kalapet was sent to extinquish a blaze at Chinnakapet. When the vehicle reached Pillaichavady, the driver lost control and ran over Sivakami killing her on the spot. The vehicle then went into a roadside hut an came to a halt. One killed in detonator blast

Hyderabad, Sep 22 (UNI) One person was killed and another injured in a detonator blast in Ragannaguda village on the outskirts of the city, today. Police said K Srinivas (25), who was very close to the detonator, was killed on the spot. Mr Srinivas, from Nalgonda district, was working as a daily labourer in a quarry owned by a real estate company. UNI AP JJ 1836.....

Learning maths will be fun, says GNLS

Chennai, Sep 22 (UNI) Learning mathematics will no longer be tiresome for young children but will rather be an enjoyable experience. 'Project Rainbow', an innovative after-school fun learn module in mathematics, launched by Generation Next Learning System (GNLS), would help them build a strong foundation in the subject, its introducers claimed.
