Spot sugar prices ease on thin buying support

Mumbai, Sep 22 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices eased on thin buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today said.

Prices of small grade fell by Rs five per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure, while medium grade went up by Re one per quintal on better buying support.

Ex-mill small and medium grades sugar declined by Rs ten and Rs five per quintal on increase offers by stockists.

Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,776/1,811, medium grade: Rs 1,800/1,851.

Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,760/1,770, medium grade: Rs 1,780/1,810.

Model Code of Conduct to come into effect from tomorrow

'Thai coup not to affect bilateral relations'
