South-west monsoon active over Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Sept 22 (UNI) The South-west Monsoon has been active over Kerala and Lakshadweep with rain and thunder showers occuring at most places.

Mancheri received a rainfall of 6 cm followed by Karipur Airport, Mannarkkad and Thalassery 5 cm each.

Kochi Airport, Aluva, Kozhikode and Mavelikkara received 4 cm each and Kannur, Punalur, Chalakkudy, Kodugallur, Cherthala, Thiruvalla 3 cm each.

Local Met office forecast rain or thunder showers at many places in Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next 48 hours.

Govt. to start Horticulture outlets in villages: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Sept 22 (UNI) Kerala Agriculture Minister Mullakara Ratnakaran today said the government would open horticulture outlets in all the village in the state in five months. Talking to mediapersons here, he said the project was aimed at marketing organically cultivated vegetables in the state. Chamber welcomes HC order to quash ban on colas
