Sharad Pawar has no Congress culture: Chennithala

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 22 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala today opined that Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar did not have Congress culture.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said Mr Pawar's activities were not suiting to Congress culture as his decisions and the way of functioning were always opposed to Congress ideologies.

Mr Ramesh alleged that Congress leaders like Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were insulted by Mr Pawar.

Stating that Congress culture was against joining hands with ''communal parties like BJP and Shiv Sena, he alleged that the NCP was sharing power with these parties in Maharashtra and Meghalaya.

On Congress sharing power with the NCP at the Centre, Mr Ramesh said this was necessitated to keep the BJP away from coming to power.

To another question on allowing Democratic Indira Congress(K) leaders K Karunakaran and his son K Muraleedharan to return to the Congress, he reiterated his earlier stand saying that ''the KPCC will welcome all those who accepted the leadership of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and they will be given due recognition in the party.''
