Security to be beefed-up at Surat railway station

Surat, Sep 22 (UNI) Security measures was beefed-up at the Surat railway station from today.

As per the increased security measures, 40 closed-circuit cameras and four metal-frame detectors will be installed at the station, sources said.

It has also been decided to improve parking facilities for autorikshaws and taxis, at a high level meeting of the railway and police officials, called yesterday, sources added.

Tirupati, Sep 22 (UNI) Police arrested two persons and seized gelatin sticks, meant for Maoists, from them at Diguvapunepalli in Penumur Mandal of Chittoor District. Acting on a tip off police raided the houses of S Ramesh Reddy (32) and P Satish Reddy (30), both quarry owners, last evening and seized the explosives, police sources said However, Sridhar who is also wanted in connection with the case, is absconding. Heavy rains claim three
