Rebels rejoin Cong

Vijayawada, Sep 22 (UNI) As many as 13 local Congressmen who had been suspended for contesting last year's Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) elections as rebel candidates were re-admitted to the party.

Talking to newsmen, Congress City Unit President Pyla Somunaidu said the re-admission followed a plea from Party MLAs and Vijayawada MP which was accepted by PCC Chief K Keshava Rao.

Mr Somunaidu and Former Mayor and Congress Leader Janjayala sankhar exhorted the partymen to forget the past and work hard unitedly for the party's success.

Lucknow, Sep 22 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) today suspended Khalilabad Lok Sabha Member Bhal Chand Yadav from the party for anti-party activities and indiscipline. Mr Yadav tried to pressurise party chief Ms Mayawati on selection of the party candidates for the coming assembly elections in Khalilabad, according to BSP national general secretary Naseemuddin Siddique.
