Precision opens global competency centre

Chennai, Sep 22 (UNI) In a bid to tap the growing market for remote infrastructure management services in India, Precision Techserve, a network consulting services and business solutions company, today launched its state-of-the-art 'Global Competency Centre' here.

Costing 1.5 million US Dollar and spread over 14,000 sq ft, the centre would focus on Enterprise System Administration, Network Operation Support and Security Operations Support of its clientele.

Addressing the media, Precision Techserve Founder-Director and CEO P Ramesh said the company would focus mainly on banking and financial institutions, manufacturing companies, retail outlets and hospitality industry.

Precision derived 50 per cent of its revenues from Information Security Services (ISS) Division and the company was targeting a business 25 million USD from ISS by 2008-09.

To expand globally, the company would start its full-fledged operations in US and Australia by the first quarter of 2007 and in UK by the middle of 2007, he said.

Within six months of its operation, the centre would increase its headcount to 375 from the present 30. The company had already entered into tie-ups with premier institutes to source freshers.

19 Adivasis cry for justice

Palanpur, Sep 22 (UNI) As many as 19 adivasi farm labourers including 5 women and 11 children were driven out, and their huts torched at village Dhandha, 14 Km from here. According to police, as many as four huts on the outskirts of the village were set on fire by some persons of the village inflicting a loss of about Rs 50,000. Kerala HC quashes ban on Coke, Pepsi

Kochi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today quashed the state government decision of August 10 to ban the production and sale of Coca-Cola and Pepsi Cola in Kerala, holding the order was arbitrary and without due jurisdiction of power. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice V K Bali and Mr Justice M Ramachandran held the state government had no power under the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act (PFA) to ban.....
