Police say 10 missing after German gas explosion

BERLIN, Sep 22 (Reuters) Police were searching for 10 people after a gas explosion in a village in northern Bavaria destroyed an apartment block and barn complex, a police spokesman said today.

''Ten people are missing,'' a police spokesman in Nueremberg said. Three injured people were rescued from the debris of the destroyed apartment block in the village of Lehrberg, north of Ansbach.

Several other houses were damaged in the explosion which occured when a gas tank was being filled.

Won't join govt that recognises Israel: Hamas

Gaza, Sept 22: The ruling Hamas movement will not join any Palestinian unity government that recognises Israel, a senior aide to Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas said today.The comments by Ahmed Youssef are a rebuff to President Mahmoud Abbas, who told the United Nations yesterday that any future coalition would recognise the Jewish state and renounce violence.''I rule that out. Tata Indicom to invest Rs ten crore in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Sep 22: Telecom service provider Tata Teleservices, which recently entered the Limca Book of records for a retail opening feat, today said it will invest Rs ten crore to enhance its retail presence in Gujarat.This will be part of the budget of Rs 80 to 100 crores, which the company has earmarked for its expansion plans across the country, said Mr Suneel Bandhu, Circle Operating Officer, Gujarat. The company entered the record book for being the first telecom.....
