Pharma Advisory Forum to meet tomorrow

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Pharma Advisory Forum is meeting here tomorrow to deliberate on important issues related to the pharmaceutical sector under the chairmanship of Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Ram Vilas Paswan.

Issues relating to the pharmaceutical sector like minimum retail price (MRP) inclusive of all taxes, bilingual labels, trade margins, schemes for families below poverty line, consumer awareness of drug prices, launching of anti-retroviral drugs by the public sector undertakings, launching of 24-hour, help line on drug prices, and the role of drug controllers and the state governments in monitoring drug prices would be discussed during the meeting.

The meet will be attended by the Minister of State for Chemicals and Petrochemicals and Parliamentary Affairs B K Handique, senior officials of the Department of Chemicals and Petro-Chemicals and the Ministries of Health and Consumer Affairs.

State Health Ministers and drug controllers, representatives of industry associations, trade associations, consumer associations and members of the advisory forum from all the states would attend the meeting.
