Pepsi launches ''Blue Billion'' campaign to cheer Indian team

Mumbai, Sept 22 (UNI) Continuing its association with cricket, Pepsi has launched its ''Blue Billion'' campaign.

To kick start the campaign, Pepsi today launched a cricket dedicated website, created in partnership with Yahoo!, a release stated here today.

The website launch will be followed by a series of commercials which feature the cola major's powerful chant of ''Oooooh Aaaaah India, Aaaaah Yaaaaa India!'' to support and cheer the Indian team.

Giving voice to a community of billion cricket crazy fans is the song ''Aaya India'', created by music director Vishal Shekhar that represents the power of one voice, one prayer, one wish! The song is supported by a video that helps showcase the solidarity of Indians across the world who wish for the success of the Indian cricket team.

The music video features Bollywood superstars and Pepsi brand ambassadors like Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham, who, along with other cricket fans, pray and chant - ''Oooooh Aaaaah India, Aaaaah Yaaaaa India''. The music video has been created in partnership with Sony BMG and CDs and cassettes of the same are available in select outlets across the country, the release added.

Another highlight of the campaign will be the consumer promotion that will lead to 300 winners getting an exclusive opportunity to be on the one-of-its kind Pepsi branded ''Blue Billion Express''.

The first such train will ferry Blue Billion winners along with Pepsi brand ambassadors all the way from Delhi to Jaipur and onwards to watch and cheer for India at the India-England match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2006.

The Blue Billion website, India's first Cricket Fan online destination -- www.bluebillion.co.in, features innovative and unique content. The site rewards consumers with Blue Points based on the time spent on the site. The Blue Billion Loyalty programme allows consumers to redeem these points for Blue Billion merchandise like Cricket Games, Blue Billion Gear, Aaya Inda CD, and others.

Consumers can also get their personalized Blue Billion ID cards, voice their opinions on players, matches, coaches, sledging, and create or participate in cricket forums. They can also cast their vote in the poll section, send messages to Team India, watch exclusive cricketer videos and get constant cricket updates from across the globe, the release added.

Spot sugar prices ease on thin buying support

Mumbai, Sep 22 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices eased on thin buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today said. Prices of small grade fell by Rs five per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure, while medium grade went up by Re one per quintal on better buying support.
