Notorious gangster shot dead in encounter

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Delhi Police have shot dead a notorious criminal involved in about three dozens cases of attempt to murder, robbery, theft, burglary, NDPS Act, Arms Act and rape in Delhi.

Dewan Chand was injured in a shootout with the police late last night near Mangolpuri while he was coming back after disposing off a stolen chain. He was immediately taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The police yesterday arrested two of Dewan Chand's associates, Prit Pal Singh and Vikas Malik from the Mehrauli area. Prit Pal was involved in several incidents of snatching chains in Delhi over teh last six months.

Interrogation of the two led the police to Dewan Chand who was intercepted by the police at Mangolpuri.

IOC official Manjunath murder case posted to Oct 6,7

Lakhimpur Kheri, Sep 22 (UNI) The high-profile Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) marketing official V Manjunath murder case was today posted to October 6 and 7 for further hearing. Meanwhile, the recording of witnesses' statement continued for the second day in the court of district judge S M S Abdi. The statement of IOC official Rajkumar Zutsi concluded today. IGL declares 25 per cent dividend for 05-06

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), sole supplier of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in the capital, presented a dividend of Rs 1.75 crore to Delhi Lt. Governor B L Joshi today on behalf of Delhi government for 2005-06. The IGL, a joint venture company of GAIL (India) Ltd and BPCL, recorded a turnover growth of 15.4 per cent and net profit growth of 14.5 per.....
