Kaif, Mongia gets nod; Aussies elect to bat first

Kuala Lumpur, Sep 22 (UNI) Australia captain Ricky Ponting opted to bat first in a do-or-die match against India with the Men in Blue bringing in Mohammad Kaif, Dinesh Mongia for the DLF Cup tie.

Winner of the match will play the West Indies in Sunday's final.

India left out Yuvraj Singh and S Sreesanth from their last match against the West Indies.

Southern Thais see faint hope in Muslim coup chief

Israeli soldiers wounded in West Bank attack

NABLUS, West Bank, Sep 22 (Reuters) One Israeli soldier was moderately wounded and six others lightly hurt in the West Bank today by explosive devices thrown by Palestinian militants, the Israeli military said. Pakistani killed in Afghan raid; Turk found dead

KABUL, Sep 22 (Reuters) Gunmen in Afghanistan attacked a convoy of oil tankers importing fuel for foreign forces and a construction company, killing a Pakistani worker, an Afghan government official today said. Separately, a body found in southern Afghanistan was identified as that of a kidnapped Turkish guard.
