Kottayam, Sep 22 (UNI) The second branch of the IL&FS Investsmart Securities Limited in Kerala was inaugurated here today.

Company Research Wing Head R Sreesankar, who inaugurated the branch, told newsmen that IL&FS was providing all financial services except banking.

The institution's service was available in 109 towns in the country. The Kottayam Branch was part of the expansion programme of the company in South India, he said.

Kolkata, Sept 22: West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee today urged the Centre, trade unions and the corporate sectors to reach a consensus over labour reforms.''The hire-and-fire policy will not help (the workforce) and the government, the trade unions and the corporate sector should come at a consensus over labour reforms,'' he said while speaking to industry leaders at a CII meeting here.''The union government has made a draft over labour reforms but it is not sufficient.....

RJD pledges support to DMK nominee for bypoll

Chennai, Sep 22 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Unit of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) today pledged support to DMK nomine S S Ghouse Basha for the October 11 bye-election to Madurai Central Assembly constituency. 19 Adivasis cry for justice

Palanpur, Sep 22 (UNI) As many as 19 adivasi farm labourers including 5 women and 11 children were driven out, and their huts torched at village Dhandha, 14 Km from here. According to police, as many as four huts on the outskirts of the village were set on fire by some persons of the village inflicting a loss of about Rs 50,000. The helpless people have been squatting outside the collectorate demanding.....
