IGL declares 25 per cent dividend for 05-06

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), sole supplier of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in the capital, presented a dividend of Rs 1.75 crore to Delhi Lt.

Governor B L Joshi today on behalf of Delhi government for 2005-06.

The IGL, a joint venture company of GAIL (India) Ltd and BPCL, recorded a turnover growth of 15.4 per cent and net profit growth of 14.5 per cent in 2005-06 over the previous year.

As against 20 per cent dividend in 2004-05, it declared a dividend of 25 per cent this year, an official statement said.

AP CM lays foundation stone for 'Aga Khan Education Academy'

Hyderabad, Sep 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today laid the foundation stone for setting up 'Aga Khan Educational Academy' on 100 aacres of land, near Ravirala village, in Rangana Reddy district. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Reddy said the state government was committed to help the Aga Khan Foundation for extending its services to the people of the state. The Educational Academy would provide education to the poor children.....

AP Govt prohibits sacrificing of animals on Vijayadashami

Hydrabad, Sept 22 (UNI)The Andhra Pradesh Govt today prohibited sacrificing of animals on the occasion of Vijayadashami, falling on October two by invoking the AP Animals and Birds Sacrifices(Prohibition) Act. The Additional Director General of Police(Legal) M Bhaskar directed all the Superintendents of Police and Commissioners to enforce the Act and take necessary action against violators, according to a statement issued here. Drop autonomy move for JIPMER: CPI(M)

Puducherry, Sep 22 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) today urged the Centre to drop the proposed move to grant autonomous status to the Centrally- administered JIPMER hospital here. Talking to newspersons today, CPI(ML) Secretary Balasubramanian said the move by the Centre, inspite of opposition from the employees of JIPMER as well as several political parties, was an atrocity on the health and family welfare of the people here......
