ICT wins $3.76 mln global contracts

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) New Delhi headquartered consultancy firm Intercontinental Consultants&Technocrats Ltd (ICT) has bagged 3.76 million dollar contracts in Mangolia, Ethiopia and Afghanistan for roads feasibility study, supervision and water resource management.

''The award of intercontinental projects in three very different parts of the world amid tough competition is a recognition of Indian technical expertise,'' ICT's CMD KK Kapila said in a statement.

The 2.2 million dollar project in Mangolia for supervision f 430 lm long road being constructed between cities of Govisumber and Dornogovi in addition to 34 km of Access Roads, under Regional Road Development Project of the country's government.

The 12-month Afghanistan contract, which totals 3,65,000 dollars, is for providing Technical Assistance to upgrade the road database management and the quality control of road works.

In Ethiopia, ICT has got three projects, of which two relate to water resources management, irrigation and road sector respectively.

The contracts amounts to 1.2 dollars.

Govt borrowing to be in line with budget: RBI

Japanese Encephalitis toll mounts to 176

Gorakhpur, Sep 22 (UNI) The deadly vector-borne menace, Japanese Encephalitis (JE), continued to claim lives of children in eastern Uttar Pradesh with the toll mounting to 176, following one more death today. Joint director health Dr Umakant Prasad said since April, almost 1,050 people suffering from JE had been admitted at Baba Raghav Das Medical College here. About 100 patients -- including 19 fresh cases -- are still under treatment. Six and two JE patients.....

Bush-Musharraf meeting begins at White House

Washington, Sep 22: US President George W Bush and his Pakistani counterpart Pervez Musharraf have begun their meeting at the White House here.The meeting is expected to last for about an hour, at the end of which the two leaders will address a joint press conference.They are expected to discuss the situation in Afghanistan, India-Pakistan relations and their bilateral ties.
