Gang of bag lifters busted, kidnapped six-year-old recovered

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Delhi police have busted a gang involved in several cases of bag lifting for more than a year, with the arrest of six persons, including two women, and recovered from them a six year-old kidnapped from Faridabad last year.

The six persons, including two women Meenakshi and Rajni, were arrested from Lajpat Nagar last evening when they had gathered to commit dacoity/theft in the market area.

A six-year-old child Shubham Gupta was also recovered from them. On enquiry it was revealed that Shubham had been kidnapped by this gang in October last year from the area of police station NIT Faridabad.

Interrogation the accused persons, all of them hailing from Salem, revealed that they have been indulging in crime of bag lifting since long and had earlier been arrested in Delhi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Pilibhit, etc.

The kidnapped boy was used by the gangsters in the commission of crime.

SC accepts Lyngdoh Committee report on student election reforms
