Four persons injured in a scuffle in Tripura

Agartala, Sep 22 (UNI) At least four people, including a BSF jawan, were injured in a scuffle near the Bangladesh border in west district.

Police said here today that a pitched battle took place between the BSF jawans and some anti-social elements at Bhogjur village close to the Bangladesh border yesterday, over seizure of smuggled goods.

Trouble brewed when BSF jawans seized some Indian goods, being smuggled out to a neighbouring country. The miscreants attacked the jawans and in the ensuing scuffle four people, including a BSF jawan, sustained injuries.

Police immediately swung into action and brought the situation under control.

Pak infiltrator caught at Sriganganagar borders

Jaisalmer, Sep 22 (UNI) A Pakistani infiltrator was caught by the Border Security Forces (BSF) in border area of Srigangangar district today and was returned to Pak Rangers. BSF sources said the infiltrator was caught at the Banda check post under Ransinghnagar police station. He was found to be insane on interogation and was hence returned to Pak Rangers. Probe into fake RC books progressing

Pondicherry, Sep 22 (UNI) The investigation into the making of fake R C Books and selling of stolen vehicles is progressing, police said. The culprits involved in the racket would be booked soon. Several persons, including brokers and employees of the transport department were being questioned, they said. Two prisoners escape from hospital

Adilabad, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 22 (UNI) Two prisoners lodged in the subjail escaped from the government hospital here today, giving the slip to five policemen guarding them. According to police, Bhadram and Krishna of Warangal district were arrested for smuggling ganja. Police also found that the two were the main persons involved in a major drug-peddling racket between Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. They were later convicted and lodged in the sub-jail. A.....
