Five per cent DA announced for Govt employees in Haryana

Chandigarh, Sep 22 (UNI) Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh today announced the release of another installment of five per cent dearness allowance (DA) to State Government employees with effect from July 1, 2006 on the pattern of the Central Government.

He said employees would now get DA at the rate of 29 per cent of their basic pay thus, registering an increase of five per cent in the dearness allowance.

This would put a financial burden of Rs 108 crore on the state exchequer during the current financial year and this liability would enhance to Rs 162 crore in every coming year.

The employees would get this enhanced DA in cash with their salaries from the month of October paid in November 2006. The arrears from July to September, 2006 would be credited to their General Provident Fund accounts.
