Five killed in collision

Muzaffarpur, Sep 22 (UNI) Five people were killed and three injured when a truck collided with an auto rickshaw near Kanti thermal power station under Kanti police station area here tonight.

According to police, five people died on the spot and the injured have been admitted at Local medical college and hospital.

The victims were travelling from Bairiya to Kanti.

MCL security staff seize 18 tonnes of coal

Sambalpur, Sep 22 (UNI) A dumper carrying 18 tonnes of coal with forged documents was today intercepted by the security staff of Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) under Lakhanpur mines in Jharsuguda district. Later the security department handed over the truck to Belpahar police station. MCL sources said the dumper belonged to Sainik transport, a company working with the MCL. Nearly 100 tonnes of coal was transported on Friday.....

Rs 2.78 lakh looted from trading agency employees

Varanasi, Sep 22 (UNI) In a broad daylight incident three masked criminals looted Rs 2.78 lakh in cash from the employees of a trading agency at gun point in Sigra area here today. Police said here that the agency employees including Ranjit Bhattacharya, Rajiv Kapoor and Mahendra Sarkar (driver) were going to deposit Rs 2.78 lakh in cash at a bank in Rathyatra locality. Jaipal Reddy appreciates Surat's resilience
