Espirit launches new collection

Chandigarh, Sep 22 (UNI) Authentic washed denims with stylish tops and narrow blazers with sensuous pencil skirts is the new look brought to the City Beautiful with the arrival of Esprit, a leading international lifestyle brand.

''The city of Chandigarh is but a natural choice for us to bring in the contemporary, versatile and chic designs that the Germany-based brand Esprit is known for acorss the world,'' said Ms Manjula Tiwari, Brand Head Esprit (India) for Madura Garments.

Rupee weakens by 4 paise to Rs 45.90/91/USD

Mumbai, Sept 22: The Indian Rupee today weakened by four paise to close at 45.90/91 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 45.85/87 per US Dollar, as the demand for Dollar grew in the oil companies after crude oil prices inched little higher, a money market trader said.Earlier, Rupee opened strong at Rs 45.80/81 per US Dollar and in the mid morning session traded relatively high at 45.93/94/US Dollar to finally close weak at 45.90/91 per.....

Call rates trade high at 6.40-6.60 pc

Mumbai, Sep 22 (UNI) Call rates today traded high between 6.40-6.60 per cent, which was 30 basis points higher than the previous close. RBI, in the call money market yesterday, transacted Rs 16758.14 crore at the weighted average of 6.49 per cent. In the first Liquidity adjustment, RBI transacted Rs 5735 crore through five bids at the rate of 6.00 per cent, whereas, in the second liquidy adjustment, RBI transacted Rs 8820 crore through nine.....

Total foreign reserves down to USD 165.542 bn

Mumbai, Sept 22, (UNI) According to the weekly statistical report presented by the Reserve Bank Of India, the Total Foreign reserves came down to US Dollar 165.542 billion as on September 15. The Foreign currency assets also stood at US Dollar 158.239 billion as on Sept 15, 2006. Besides, maintaining the best international practice India's reserve position in the IMF was at US Dollar 76.4 billion. Total Bank Credit as on Sept 01 was.....
