Coca Cola welcomes order; hopes other states will revoke ban

Kochi, Sep 22 (UNI) Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd today welcomed the Kerala High Court judgement revoking the August 10 order of the state government banning the production and sale of Coca Cola and expressed hope that other state government would follow suit.

In a statement here, the company said it was completely confident about the safety of its drinks in India, which are according produced to European Union (EU) standards with regard to regards the pesticide content.

It hoped other state governments, which had banned or restricted the sale of its soft drinks, would reconsider the orders.

Opinion divided on Freedom Bill

Rebels rejoin Cong

Vijayawada, Sep 22 (UNI) As many as 13 local Congressmen who had been suspended for contesting last year's Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) elections as rebel candidates were re-admitted to the party. Talking to newsmen, Congress City Unit President Pyla Somunaidu said the re-admission followed a plea from Party MLAs and Vijayawada MP which was accepted by PCC Chief K Keshava Rao. Mr Somunaidu and Former Mayor and Congress Leader Janjayala sankhar exhorted the partymen.....
