Build up runs, clinics prior to Hutch Delhi Half Marathon

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) Build up runs followed by clinics will be organised to train the athletes for the Hutch Delhi Half Marathon to be held on October 15.

Asian Marathon Champion 1992 and President of the Health Fitness Society Sunita Godara will give tips to beginners on scientific methods to improve performance, relaxation techniques, prevent injuries and will provide diet schedules in clinics to be conducted after every build up run.

The training will be followed by a running clinic and on October 1, 50 Runners will be selected for 'Team Jindal'.

More than 50 school children along with martial art students will join the build up run and the marathon clinic at Nehru Park tomorrow.

Neyveli, Sep 22 (UNI) ICF Chennai regained the title with the maximum of 20 points in the 16th Tamil Nadu State Team Chess Championships here today. ICF, who had last won the title in 2004, emerged on top with Syed Anwar Shazuli, K Gunasekaran, C Natarajan, T J Suresh Kumar and IM R Balasubramaniam, scoring 20 points out of a maximum of 28. India to play one-day series at home against Windies, Lankans

Mumbai, Sep 22 (UNI) The Indian cricket team, as a build up to the 2007 World Cup in the Carribean Isles, would play two bilateral series' of four one-day matches each against West Indies and Sri Lanka at home in January-February next year. Mumbai, Sep 22 (UNI) Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar is set to take over as chief national selector from ex-teammate Kiran More. Vengsarkar's name has been put forward from the influential West Zone, one of India's five regions represented on the panel.
