Apex bank to get Rs 30 cr revival package

Itanagar, Sep 22: The Vaidyanathan Committee (VC) constituted by the Centre has announced Rs 30 crore package to the ailing Arunachal Pradesh State Cooperative Apex Bank for its revival, official sources informed here today.

The package would be given only after a conducting a special audit and signing of MoU with the Centre, sources said.

Some bank officials of the state cooperation department who had attended a sub-committee meeting of the VC at Guwahati were informed regarding the deal, sources said.

The bank's pending audit for 2004-05 by the cooperation department is nearing completion and would reveal the irregularities committed in the bank for penal action, sources informed.

Meanwhile, bank employees' association have submitted their list of demands to the state government to put it before the cabinet, the sources added.
