AP Govt initiates steps to strengthen bunds: Official

Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh Sep 21 (UNI) East Godavari District Collector M Subramanyam today said all precautionary measures were taken to strengthen the bunds at Sanepalli, breached in the torrential rains earlier.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Subramanyam said the situation was not alarming, as the water level at Bhadrachalam started receding and the level at Dowleswaram, would also recede tomorrow.

Two killed, nine injured in road accident

Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 21 (UNI) Two passengers were killed and nine injured, two of them seriously, when a private bus in which they were travelling overturned on Raichoti-Kadapa National Highway at Ramapuram mandalam in the district tonight.
