End employees strike: Municipal Council tells TTD

Tirupati, Sep 17(UNI) With the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) employees continuing their relay hunger strike agitation for the 15th day demanding house sites, among other things, the Tirupati Municipal Council today appealed to TTD Executive Officer A P V N Sarma to take the initiative to end the stir.

A resolution to this affect was passed by the Council. It said TTD should sort out the issue of sites for its employees amicably, giving its own or any other suitable land near Tirupati town.

The action has to be expeditious in view of the annual nine-day 'Brahmotsavam' festival to be held from September 25 at the of Lord Venkateswara.

He said 113 of the 250 works sanctioned under the 'prajapatham' programme were pending and would be resumed immediately after the receipt of funds.

Tirupati MLA, M Venkataramana said 3000 applicants were being identified for providing house sites under the 'Indiramma' scheme for housing for poor.

Munde demands Rs 200 cr for sub-canals to Jayakwadi dam

IRCON ignoring locals in J
