Winter session of HP Vidhan Sabha in new building: CM

Dharamshala, Sep 12 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said the next winter session of the state Vidhan Sabha would be held in the new complex being constructed in Kangra district of the state.

''The government had already created a history of sorts by holding the winter session of the Assembly at Dharamshala last year,'' he said after inspecting the new building at Tapovan, near here in the district.

Expressing satisfaction over the pace of the construction, he said the people of the state had hailed its decision of holding the winter session of the assembly here.

The Chief Minister also paid a surprise visit to the Dharamshala District Hospital and went around all wards, interacting with indoor and outdoor patients and enquired about the treatment being given to them.

Mr Singh also laid the foundation stone of the augmented Ramnagar-Shamnagar Drinking Water Supply scheme that will be constructed at a cost of Rs 190.07 lakh.

The scheme would provide adequate drinking water to a population of about 20,000 and would meet the demand of 30,000 people till 2024, he said.

Mr Singh was accompanied by state Transport and Tourism Minister G S Bali and Revenue Minister Sat Mahajan besides several other senior state government officials.
