Pondicherry, Sept 13 (UNI) Pondicherry Health and Labour Minister E Valsaraj today called up on students to have wider sensitisation about the job opportunities and develop their skills accordingly.
Inaugurating a two-day seminar on career guidence for 12th standard students here, Mr Valsaraj said the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and the Port development would create job opportunities to about 75,000 educated youths. The Pondicherry administration was taking care of the students welfare in the union territory.
About 23,000 students have been covered under this periodical seminar. He also handed over an appointment order on compassionate grounds (CGs) to D Sandhyarani, wife of Dy Labour Commissioner D Venkanna, who was killed in an accident in April last.
Speaking on the occasion, Director of Education G Ragesh Chandra said a seperate official would be posted to counsel the students on various courses they could take up after completing school education. UNI PAB VR 1505
