Two arrested,loot of Rs. one lakh recovered.

Dehradun, Sep 13 (UNI) Dehradun Police arrested two dacoits after a brief encounter and recovered arms and ammunition from them along with jewellery worth Rs. one lakh here today.

SSP Sanjay Gunjyal told reporters that Salim and Aslam both from Mujaffarnagar were arrested from State Bungalow by police on a tip off, while they were on their way to commit a dacoity. Police faced mild resistance from their side as they opened fire on them.

However they succeeded in rounding them up.

Police recovered two country made pistols and 4 live cartridges from them. The looted jewellery and other arms from the rented house at Rajiv Nagar where they were living that included, folding rifle and Khukri ( Knife) was also recovered.

According to the SSP they had also looted a house at Sridev Suman Nagar and Gandhinagar at arms point a fortnight before. Both have been booked under Sections 307, 292, 392 and Section 25 Arms Act of Indian Penal Code.

Centre approves Rs 9.30 crore for tribal welfare
