TUC to present umbrella to Lord Balaji during Garuda Seva

Tirupati, Sep 13 (UNI) In view of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams at Tirumala, the Tirupati Umbrellas Charities (TUC) will present an umbrella to Lord Venkateswara during the Garuda Seva on September 29.

A TTD press release here today said the TUC will bring the umbrella from Chennai to Tirumala in a massive procession.

Any offering or donations made during the procession will not go to the account of the TTD, release added.

Committee constituted to expedite port development work

New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister T.R. Baalu today constituted a committee, comprising senior officials of his ministry and chairpersons of some major ports, to identify the areas where standardisation could be done to expedite the awarding of contracts relating to port development works.
