Terror threat in Bangalore 'real': DGP

Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) Karnataka Director General of Police B S Sail today said that the terrorist threat in Bangalore was 'real' and top companies, mainly those in the Information technology sector, should be more alert than they were.

Speaking at the inauguration of Emergency Response Centre at Auomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research here, he said, ''The threat is real. But there is no cause for panic. You are in safe hands.'' Mr Sial, however, expressed unhappiness over the level of security that was maintained by the big companies who were ''Investing thousands of crores of Rupees on facilities after recording robust growth, but ignoring the security aspect.'' ''It takes time to blow a baloon but just a prick from a pin is enough to blow it up. I appeal to you to reinvest some portion of your profits in the security operatus. This is very important,'' he added.
