Sandeep, Parth, Amjad, Capt Shakti enter in last 16

Jaipur, Sep 13 (UNI) Sandeep Jhangra, Parth Sharma, Capt Shakti Singha and Amjad Khan entered last 16 in the Indian Oil Harish Chandra Golecha Rajasthan Open Squash Championship at Jaipur club courts here today.

Sixth seed Sandeep dropped one game before beating Ishan Tharyamal 5-9, 9-5, 9-1, 9-0 in the men's section. Other seeded players got through easily. Fifth seed Parth Sharma routed Kastikeya Sharma 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 while capt Shakti singh beat Kaluram with a score of 9-, 9-0, 9-1 and Ajmad Khan registered easy victory over Kapil Murjani (Jodhpur) 9-4, 9-0, 9-7.

In boys under-19, third seed Gunraj beat Udai Shankar 9-1, 9-1, 9-1, while fourth seed Sami Jhonson easily got through Farid Singh 9-3, 9-3, 9-2.

Palestinian firms give food coupons to govt workers

RAMALLAH, West Bank, Sep 13 (Reuters) Two Palestinian firms began handing out food coupons to tens of thousands of unpaid government workers today, underscoring the dire economic situation facing the Hamas-led administration. The government has been unable to pay full wages to 165,000 employees since March after the West imposed an aid embargo over Hamas's refusal to recognise Israel and renounce violence. Israel has also been withholding some 55 million dollarin tax and customs.....
