Private Schools to reserve 20 per cent seats for BPL in J

Srinagar, Sep 13 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has directed the private schools to reserve 20 per cent seats for the Below poverty Line (PBL) students in the state.

An official spokesman said the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education has approved that all the private schools affiliated to the Board will have to reserve 20 per cent of seats of their intake capacity of admission to different classes for BPL and down-trodden categories of the society.

Accordingly the heads of all such private affiliated High and Higher Secondary Schools have been directed to grant admission to the BPL, down trodden, OBC, SC, and ST categories of the students in their school against the reserved seats.

They have also been directed to furnish the list of all such students with their full particulars and the category to which they belong to the Board Office, for further necessary action.

Burundi rebels start to assemble after truce
