Police bust a Hawala transaction network in Kashmir, 3 arrested

Srinagar, Sep 13 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police have busted a hawala transaction network, arresting three persons in south Kashmir's Pulwama district and seizing two Lakh rupees and grenades from them.

A spokesman said police busted a hawala transaction network of AL-Badar militant outfit in district Pulwama of south Kashmir.

Three persons-- Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Nadeem Ahmad Bhat and Ghulam Mohammad Bhat-- all residents of Agler Pulwama, allegedly involved in the hawala transaction, have been arrested in this connection.

Police seized Rs two lakhs in cash and three hand grenades from the possessions of the accused persons, he said.

He said these persons used to obtain money from their mentors for onwards supply to the militants cardres. The police has registered a case and further investigations are in progress.

CPI(M) to move for SEZ Act amendment

Kolkata, Sep 13 (UNI) The CPI(M) Polit Bureau today decided to garner support from other political parties and press the UPA Government for an amendment to the Special Economic Zone Act to arrest largescale eviction of farmers.
