Naxalite menace affects BJP membership campaign

Patthalgaon, Sep 13 (UNI) Apart from disturbing normal life and obstructing development, naxalite menace has affected BJP membership campaign in Chhattisgarh.

''Membership campaign in three districts of Bastar region could not be completed owing to naxalite problem. As a result, BJP organisational polls had been postponed,'' State BJP President and MP Vishnu Dev Sai told UNI.

However, Mr Sai said, BJP organisational elections had been completed peacefully in all other divisions.

Poll procedure was complete in 12 out of 19 districts with consensus.

He said he had a challenge before him to bring the BJP back to power. ''Emphasis was being laid on strengthening the party in the state.'' He asserted that BJP would come back to power as the Congress' led government has failed in maintaining internal security and curbing price rise.
